Long Crew
Our super awesome members who arrive on site early and stay afterwards to tear down are called Long Crew. We love them!! We need them!! Typically, we head up in shuttles 5 days before the gathering starts. You can expect about 50 of us, including coordinators, to be on site during this time. We aim to be wrapped up 5 days after the festival ends. First-aid and communications available on site during these times..
You will be expected to work. Pre-festival, we have group breakfast and everyone is set on their tasks, usually assigned to a coordinator or team leader for the day. Although we reconvene for lunch, you might already have a full-day task and can head back out to it when you're ready. Otherwise, a mid-day task allocation is set. When the sun is setting, we meet again for dinner and debrief.
During the festival week, responsibility shrink as new arriving members step up to take on jobs. If we need you though, participation is still expected for the duration of the gathering. Post-festival we take a day to relax, and then get busy tearing it all down, wrapping it up for storage and making sure the land is as clean as when we arrived.
Long crew is a really intimate way to get acquainted with your fellow members, and the land quickly beings to feel like hOMe. If you'd like to join us on Long Crew, fill out the long crew questionnaire ASAP! We're trying to organize work weekends in late May and early June, so the sooner you submit, the better!
For those with previous long crew experience, if you’ve noticed an area that could use some of your personal refinement, we’d like to collaborate! This year there has been a lot of interest in building a cob oven. Just imagine fresh baked bread in the forest! Get in touch with your ideas!!
